This One Shift Can Transform Your Ramadan

heart-to-heart

Assalamu Alaikum my dear friend,

What’s the first thing that comes to your mind when you think about Ramadan?

I’m sure each of us has unique memories tied to this blessed month. For me, my childhood memories of Ramadan are filled with the excitement of hoarding food for Iftar and attending loooooong Taraweeh prayers in the masjid. But there’s one memory that has stayed with me forever.

I was probably six or seven years old, and it was Suhoor time at home. We had just returned from the masjid after Qiyamullail, where we listened to a beautiful recitation by a Qari and Hafidh—who also happened to be one of my relatives. I was in awe of him.

I remember clinging to my mother’s dress, my heart full of excitement, and saying, “Ma, I want to be like him. I want to become a Hafidh.” 🙂

Both my uncle and my parents lovingly dismissed the idea, telling me to focus on my studies first. But deep within my heart, that dream never left me. Even now, more than 40 years later, it lingers. And every Ramadan, that dream is rekindled.

Because Ramadan is the month of the Quran.

There is no better time to reconnect with the Book of Allah than in the month in which it was revealed. In fact, when Allah subuhanawut’ala speaks about Ramadan in the Quran, He first mentions the Quran before even mentioning fasting:

“The month of Ramadan [is that] in which the Quran was revealed, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion…” (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:185)

That means Quran should be the centerpiece of our Ramadan. But for many, recitation itself feels like a challenge. Many struggle with basic Tajweed, and yet, learning to recite the Quran properly is an obligation upon every Muslim.

Our scholars emphasize that we have four fundamental responsibilities toward the Quran—four ways in which we must engage with it meaningfully:

  1. Recite it properly with Tajweed.
  2. Understand its meaning and message.
  3. Live by it and apply it in our lives.
  4. Call others to it and spread its guidance.

I don’t know where you currently stand in your journey with the Quran, but I invite you to reflect on these four duties and choose one area to work on this Ramadan.

To help you on this path, I want to recommend an institute that I have personally worked with for the past four years. The founder is my own teacher, and I have recommended this institute to nearly all of my relatives because of their high standards and exceptional qualifications. My teacher has memorized the Quran in all 10 Qira’at, possesses Ijazah in all of them, and is a graduate of Al-Azhar University in Cairo.

In preparation for Ramadan, I spoke to him and arranged a special deal for you. You’ll get:

✅ A free trial lesson
20% off the first two months of your classes

This is an exclusive deal that you won’t find anywhere else. Simply write Best Versions in the notes when signing up to claim it. Here’s the link: https://sabeelulquraan.com/trial-class

Why am I doing this?

Because I want to nudge you toward making the Quran the centerpiece of your Ramadan—whether that means improving your recitation, studying its sciences, or memorizing it. And I pray that by helping you on this journey, I will share in the reward of every letter you recite, understand, and act upon.

Please note, I do not receive any financial benefit from this recommendation. My only goal is to help you draw closer to the Kalam of Allah.

May Allah subuhanawut’ala bless us with a Ramadan filled with Quran, reflection, and transformation.

With love and gratitude,
Rushdhi
